Punjabi singer Inder Kaur alias Yashinder Kaur (29) was murdered in Ludhiana. His body was found in Neelo Canal at 11 am today. Inder was kidnapped at gunpoint 6 days ago, after which the family was continuously searching for him. The family said that the man, a resident of Moga, was pressurizing them to marry. When she refused, he kidnapped her. Then after committing the murder he fled to Canada. He had come to Punjab from Canada via Nepal only to commit murder, then fled back through this route. Both of them had become friends on Instagram 5 years ago, but as soon as Inder came to know that the accused was married and had children, she refused to marry him. Due to this the accused started getting angry. At present, the police have taken out the body of the deceased from the canal and sent it to the Civil Hospital of Samrala for postmortem. Inder’s parents and two brothers live in Korea. While one of his brothers lives in Jamalpur, Ludhiana. Singer’s brother Jotinder Singh said that Inder Kaur had gone out in her white Ford Figo car at around 6.30 pm on May 13 to buy groceries from the market, but she did not return home. When the girl did not return, the family members started searching for her at their level. During investigation they came to know that Yashinder was friends with a person named Sukhwinder Singh alias Sukha, who is originally from Moga but currently lives in Canada with his family. On the night of 13 May, Sukhwinder Singh alias Sukha, his father Pritam Singh, his friend Karamjeet Singh and some other unknown associates together kidnapped Yashinder Kaur at gunpoint with the intention of killing her. The accused brother, who came to Punjab from Canada via Nepal, said that Sukhwinder Singh alias Sukha was pressurizing Yashinder Kaur to marry him and Sukha’s father Pritam Singh was also supporting him in this work. On the other hand, Yashwinder had come to know that Sukhwinder was already married and had children, hence she was clearly refusing for this marriage. He said that he was kidnapped to take revenge for this. The accused had come to Punjab from Canada via Nepal. He hired two taxis from Moga. After coming here he kidnapped his sister at gunpoint. After this, accused Sukhwinder Singh murdered his sister on the banks of the canal and then again fled to Canada via Nepal. Friendship was established on Instagram 5 years ago. Five years ago, Inder Kaur had given up singing and was now working in a boutique and as a makeup artist. Sister and accused Sukhwinder were friends on Instagram for the last 5 years. He kept coming and going home. He had construction work in Canada. I also kept talking to him. When it was found out that he was married, the sister refused to marry him. Talked to Inder Kaur for the last time on 13th May at 10 pm. She said I am coming home. After that his phone got switched off. Don’t know what happened after that. The accused had also come on Inder’s birthday. Relative and former councilor Jaspal Singh Gyaspura told that the friendship between Sukhwinder and Inder was about 5-6 years old. Sukhwinder also came on Inder’s birthday on 13 January. In March, he had promised to marry Inder, but later said that he would marry after some time. Later the family came to know that he was already married and had two children. He told that Sukhwinder lives in Calgary, Canada and is a PR holder there. His age is 37 years. Both were identified through social media. Jaspal Singh alleged that Sukhwinder had murdered Inder. He said police have recovered both the car and the body, while two people have also been arrested. It is not a matter of kidnapping. When Sukhwinder said that he was going abroad, Inder was going to drop him in her car. It is not known what happened between the two on the way and he murdered her.
