Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) spokesperson Saurabh Das, who is protesting at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, has expressed disappointment over the statement of singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh. In a recent conversation, Saurabh Das said that he is a little upset with Diljit’s attitude. Like songs, Diljit should also talk about the issues of the youth of the country and this movement through his words. Earlier, in his Instagram live, Diljit Dosanjh had talked about keeping himself away from the Cockroach Janata Party protest. He had said that he is not a politician but just an artist. Diljit should boost the enthusiasm of the youth. In the video, Cockroach Janata Party spokesperson Saurabh Das is seen talking to the media. Initially Saurabh said that he did not have any message for actor-singer Diljit. However, when he was asked a direct question about Diljit’s recent statement, he said, “It is very sad. I think he should say something on this movement so that the enthusiasm of the youth increases. He not only increases the enthusiasm with his songs, but he should also talk about the issues related to the youth of the country with his words.” Diljit distanced himself from the performance. This whole controversy started after an Instagram live session of Diljit Dosanjh. During a live conversation, a fan had asked Diljit for his opinion regarding the ongoing Cockroach Janata Party demonstration at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. To this Diljit had replied, “Brother, keep me away from things like these performances. I am an artiste, not a leader.” Diljit had made it clear that he wants to limit himself only to the world of entertainment and he has no direct connection with any political party or movement. There is a lot of discussion on social media about this changed stance of Diljit Dosanjh. During the farmers’ movement in the year 2020-21, Diljit had openly supported the farmers. He himself had come to participate in the ongoing dharna on the Delhi border and also provided huge financial help to the protesters. However, since then Diljit has completely distanced himself from political and social controversies. In May this year, he had completely rejected the news of joining politics.
