Himansh Kohli’s new look will be seen in ‘Aryabhatta Ka Zero’: The story of the film is on the conflict between father and son and the struggle of dreams.

Himansh Kohli, who has played lead roles in many big films including ‘Yaariyan’, ‘Student of the Year 2’, the new film is ‘Aryabhatta Ka Zero’. Had a special conversation with him on his association with it, making etc… Himansh says… ‘Aryabhatta Ka Zero’ is the story of a locality in Dehradun. In this, my character is Brahmagupta Srivastava alias Baggu, who is always considered ‘zero’ by his father. The father wants his son to become something while he is alive, while Baggu wants to build the world of his dreams. Along with the story of father-son conflict, it is also the story of every youth who struggles to fulfill his dreams. There is also a glimpse of my life in the film, the story has been written by Tariq Mohammad. Himansh says… ‘I have been associated with this film from the beginning. When writer Tariq Mohammad was writing the story, we were sharing our life experiences. I was telling them that many times one has to convince the family first about one’s dreams. Such a period has come in my life also. Many parts of the film, especially the pre-climax, resonate with my personal life. Not only me, the entire team felt that their lives were also visible somewhere in the story. Every character plays an important role in helping Baggu reach his destination. Himansh says, ‘This is not the story of just one boy, it is the story of the entire locality. The film stars Sonali Sehgal, Ravi Kishan, Neeraj Sood, Alka Amin, Rajesh Sharma, Darshana Banik, Gopal Dutt and Shilpa Shinde. Every character comes at some point in Baggu’s life and influences his thinking or journey. Dehradun is not just a location, it is also an important character in the film, according to Himansh… ‘The shooting of the film took place in Dehradun, Delhi and Mumbai but most of the time was spent in Dehradun. Shot there for about 65 days. Delhi and Mumbai have been used as per the need of the story. The climax was also shot in Dehradun. First the name was ‘Boondi Raita’, then by the time the film was made, it got the desired title. According to Himansh…’Initially the working title of the film was kept as ‘Boondi Raita’, because the title ‘Aryabhata Ka Zero’ was not available. This name was always our first choice. It was registered with someone else, but later it was not renewed and we got the title by the time the film was completed. I think this name best expresses the spirit of the story and the father-son relationship. Getting a lead role is not a strategy, it is luck on your side, says Himansh… In ‘Yaariyan’ too, I was first selected for the third lead, but during the workshop I reached the lead role. At the same time, he was also leading in ‘Humse Hai Life’. Getting the right opportunity at the right time is important, but preparation is equally important. Along with acting, I am also making films under my production house. ‘Julia and Kalia’ has been completed. The second film ‘Ka Se Kabootar’ is based on the education system, the shooting of which is going on. Its next schedule will be in Chhattisgarh.
