Pandya Store fame actor Rohit Chandel has been arrested for molesting and stalking a minor. Apart from this, he was also accused of assault. According to ABP News report, a complaint was filed against Rohit on July 10 under the POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses). On July 10 itself, he was arrested from his house in Dahisar and presented in the Special POCSO Court. Currently the actor is in custody. Pant Nagar police station has also invoked sections 78 (stalking) and 115(2) (intent to cause hurt) of the Indian Justice Code against the actor after receiving a complaint by a minor resident of Mumbai’s eastern suburbs on Friday. The actor is accused of repeatedly harassing the minor girl by calling her from his number. When the girl stopped picking up his phone, the actor started harassing her by calling repeatedly from another number. According to the complaint, on July 5, Rohit tried to forcefully stop the girl near her house and later chased her. When the girl protested, the actor started an argument, abused and beat her. Who is Rohit Chandel? Rohit Chandel played the role of Dhaval Makwana in Star Plus’ famous show ‘Pandya Store’ and Bajirao in Zee TV’s historical show ‘Kashibai Bajirao Ballal’. Rohit, a resident of Shahada in Nandurbar district of Maharashtra, has played professional cricket before coming into acting. He played cricket for Maharashtra Cricket Association and also represented his district in martial arts. In 2015, Rohit reached Mumbai to pursue a career in acting. He had to struggle a lot in the initial phase. After being rejected in about 90 auditions, he got his first commercial advertisement. After this he made his TV debut with ‘Har Mushkil Ka Hal Akbar Birbal’. Later, he appeared in many serials like ‘Chandragupt Maurya’, ‘Tamanna’ and ‘Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai’. In the year 2022, he played the role of Rajkumar in Disney + Hotstar’s web series ‘Escape Live’. ‘Kashibai Bajirao Ballal’ and ‘Pandya Store’ made him famous in every household. Currently he is seen in the TV show ‘Sairab’.
