Sanjay Dutt has apologized for obscenity in the Kannada film song ‘Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’. On April 27, the actor appeared before the National Commission for Women (NCW). Sanjay apologized unconditionally for the lyrics and presentation of the song. Actually, the Commission had sent summons to the film team including Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt regarding obscenity and objectionable content towards women in the song. Wasn’t aware of the lyrics: Sanjay Dutt On Monday afternoon, Sanjay Dutt reached the office of the Women’s Commission in Delhi along with his lawyer. After the appearance, his lawyer said, “Sanjay Dutt respects women and the Women’s Commission very much. He told the Commission that when this song was recorded, it was in another language, so he was not aware of the depth of its Hindi lyrics. Despite this, he has apologized on his behalf.” Sanjay Dutt, who took the responsibility of education of 50 children, not only apologized but also proposed to take voluntary social action. The actor has announced that he will bear the entire expense of the education of 50 children from the tribal community. His lawyer clarified that Sanjay Dutt has taken this decision considering his responsibility towards the society. The Commission has taken this step of the actor on record. NCW had taken suo motu cognizance. Last month, the Women’s Commission had taken suo motu cognizance of this song on the basis of media reports. The Commission said that the lyrics and choreography of the song are prima facie sexually suggestive and objectionable. The Commission considered this to be a violation of the provisions of the Indian Judicial Code (BNS), IT Act and POCSO Act. After the controversy escalated, the lyrical video of this song has been removed from YouTube. What is the whole matter? The controversy started with the song ‘Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’ from the film ‘KD: The Devil’, which stars Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt. The words ‘double meaning’ were used in the opening lines of the song. Although later in the song it was shown that the words were for a liquor bottle, by then there was strong opposition to it. Nora Fatehi had also made it clear by writing a post on social media that she does not support such content.
