Sai Pallavi, who was seen in the role of Mother Sita in Ramayana, one of the most awaited films of Indian cinema, has turned 34 today.
Sai Pallavi was once an ordinary contestant of a dance reality show. In her childhood, she also appeared as a junior artist in Kangana Ranaut’s film.

The director who offered the film was considered a stalker

Sai Pallavi was born in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Father was an excise officer and a football player and mother Radha was a dancer. Sai was also a good badminton player in her childhood.

Sai was seen as a child artist in the film Kasturi Maan (2005) at the age of just 13. After this he worked as a junior artist in the 2008 Tamil film Dham Dhoom. She was in sixth class at that time. Kangana Ranaut debuted in Tamil cinema with this film.

Following the footsteps of her mother, Sai started getting interested in dance. As a teenager, he participated in the Tamil dance show Ungalil Yaar Udhuta Prabhu Deva (Who Will Be Next Prabhu Deva) (2008). In an episode of the show, Samantha was impressed by Ruthprabhu Sai’s dance and praised her a lot. Since then Sai started getting some recognition.

If Sai had been a finalist in Kaun Banega Agla Prabhu Deva, she would have got a chance to meet Prabhu Deva, but she could not meet Prabhu Deva as she was eliminated from the show in the semi-finale itself. But coincidentally, years later, Prabhu Deva choreographed a dance for her, which created a big record.
Sai could not win the dance reality show, but her performance went viral on social media. At that time, South director Alphonse Puthren was looking for a new face for one of his films, when one day he came across a dance video on Facebook.

That video was of Sai Pallavi’s dance clip. He liked Sai so much that he somehow started searching for her number. One day Alphonse called and offered the film to Sai.
Sai, who did dance reality shows as an amateur, actually wanted to become a doctor. One of his cousins was going to Georgia to study medicine, so Sai also took admission there. This was the reason why he rejected director Alphonse’s film also.
Sai used to come to India during holidays and lived in Georgia the rest of the time. According to South reports, Sai initially did not want to go to Georgia, then her mother said that if she did not go, her cousin would become fairer there, learn good English and also get good relations. Due to this greed, his mother persuaded him to go to Georgia.
When SAI’s final year exams approached, she came to Coimbatore to focus on her studies. This was the same time, director Alphonse, who had offered the film to Sai 6 years ago, started the film Premam. He wanted to cast Asin in this film, but then he dropped Asin’s name in the desire of a Malayali speaking actress.
One day he again thought of Sai Pallavi and immediately called Sai and offered him the film Premam. Sai, who was focusing on studies, got scared by this call. They thought that someone was stalking them and making such calls again and again. Sai first spoke loudly on the call and then wanted to lodge a complaint at the police station. Fortunately, the director cleared this misunderstanding by telling his complete profile and about the film.
After this Sai agreed to work in the Malayalam film Premam. In the year 2014, 5 people especially reached Sai’s hometown to audition him.
The audition was successful and he got the role of Malar, a lecturer, in the film Premam. Sai put 3 conditions before signing the film. The first condition – the shooting will take place only during the college holidays, the second condition – she will wear only those clothes in the film in which she is comfortable and the third condition – she will not wear make-up in the film.
Generally, every actress wants to look flawless and perfect on camera, for which it is very common to use makeup. Sai Pallavi, then about 22 years old, had many pimples on her face. Any girl would have wanted to hide them in the film, but Sai decided not to wear makeup.
Sai shot the entire film during the holidays and then went to Georgia and gave the exams.
Sai Pallavi’s first film Premam was released on 29 May 2015.
Sai came to India from Georgia to watch the first day first show. As soon as the movie ended in the theatre, the entire theater echoed with applause. It received a lot of love from critics and audiences. Newcomer Sai Pallavi got not 1-2 but 6 debut awards for this film. There was a lot of discussion about doing makeup work without him.
The song Pranavalaya is the only song from the 2021 film in which Sai Pallavi did makeup.
Thanks to the film Premam, Sai Pallavi started getting offers for many films. In 2015, she appeared in the Malayalam film Kaali with Dulquer Salmaan. This film was also a hit and Sai Pallavi got the nomination for Best Actress.
After achieving stardom in Malayalam films, Sai did the Telugu film Fida in 2017, which was a blockbuster. Sai Pallavi’s performance in this film has been included in the 100 Greatest Performances of the Decades. She also received her first Best Actress Award for this film.

Vijay Deverakonda’s film rejected due to kissing scene
In the year 2018, Sai Pallavi had signed a film with debutant director Bharat Kamma along with Vijay Deverakonda. The first poster of this film was released on 9 May 2018, Vijay’s birthday. However, when Sai came to know that she would have to do a kissing scene with Vijay in the film, she rejected the film.
Controversy over statement given on Kashmiri Pandits
Sai’s statement in the promotional event of the film Virat Parvan caused controversy. In fact, he has compared the massacre of Kashmiri Pandits with the lynching of those accused of cow smuggling and said that whoever indulges in violence is wrong. Sai had said, ‘Kashmir Files has shown the massacre of Kashmiri Pandits in the 90s. If you are looking at this as a fight of religion then what would you say about the incident in which a Muslim driver carrying a truck full of cows was beaten up and forced to raise slogans of Jai Shri Ram. According to me there is no difference between these two.
After the controversy, Sai Pallavi apologized and said that she was only condemning the violence. His statement was misrepresented.
