TV’s most adorable and innocent ‘Roohi’ i.e. Ruhanika has now grown up. Ruhanika, who won crores of hearts with her performance in ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’, is now going to be seen in a new avatar. She is entering the world of reality TV through Rohit Shetty’s show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’. In a special conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, Ruhanika spoke openly about her new innings, her attempt to break her old ‘image’ and the advice she received from her ‘mentors’ in the industry. She talked about how Divyanka Tripathi is her inspiration and why she considers herself a ‘perfect fit’ for the show. Question: Ruhanika, we have seen you as an innocent child from a very young age. Now you are going to ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’. When you got the offer for this show, what was your first reaction? Answer: To be honest, I was very excited. People still consider me to be the same little ‘Ruhi’, but in real life I have been quite athletic since childhood. I love sports and physical activities. I always like to challenge myself and go out of my comfort zone. So as soon as I got the call, I felt that I was made for ‘Danger’. Mom and dad were also very happy with my decision. Question: What things were you afraid of in childhood and what is your biggest fear today? Answer: Everyone feels afraid, after all we are humans. In childhood, we used to be afraid of small things, but as we learn to take risks and face challenges, the fear reduces. Today, fear for me means not being able to improve myself. I want to see myself growing. Question: You must have seen the previous seasons, there are stunts ranging from dangerous animals to heights. Is there anything you would like to avoid? Answer: There is no option to avoid anything (laughs). Whatever comes my way, I will try to complete it with a calm mind. I am going with the intention of pushing myself and finishing the task. Question: Your co-stars from ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ Ali Goni and Divyanka Tripathi have themselves been a part of the show. Did you talk to him? Answer: Yes, absolutely. I spoke to Ali chachu, Divyanka ma’am and Ishi ma (Anita Hassanandani). They all have given me a lot of encouragement. Ali Chachu and Divyanka Ma’am gave me such good advice that now I feel completely prepared. His words have increased my confidence. Question: Is there any contestant who inspires you the most? Answer: Divyanka ma’am! I have said it before and I will say it again, that woman is made of steel. The spirit he showed in his season was amazing. I want to follow his footsteps not only in Khatron Ke Khiladi but at every turn of life. Question: This time there are many old and experienced contestants with you in the show. Do you think they will have the advantage of ‘experience’ and you will be left behind? Answer: I don’t see it as a disadvantage. Granted, he has experience and knows the flow of the show, but I have youthful energy. I am very young, I have enthusiasm and tremendous determination towards the task. So the competition will be equal, it is a ‘win-win’ situation. Question: Ritwik Dhanjani had recently said that “Do not take it lightly considering it is small, it will make a big bang.” How do you view such compliments? Answer: It feels great when seniors in the industry praise you. This also increases responsibility. People who have a certain opinion about me, I want to cross that mark. My biggest goal is to make my parents feel proud. Question: You have always been seen in a certain ‘mould’ or image. Is this show a means to break that image? Answer: Of course I want to break that tag. People will see a different side of Ruhanika on screen. I am no longer that little girl, and this is what I want to prove with my performance. You will see Ruhanika for Ruhanika. Question: How have you prepared yourself mentally and physically? Answer: If anyone follows me on social media, they would know that fitness has been my passion. Working out and sports are a part of my life, so I am physically prepared. As far as mental strength is concerned, it is all a game of mind. You just have to remain calm and focused.
