Does life end after breakup? Should we continue in a violent relationship just because it is a relationship? On such questions, actor Nassar and actress and social activist Nafisa Ali spoke to Dainik Bhaskar during the promotion of the film ‘Max, Min and Myuuzaki’. Nassar said that breaking a relationship does not mean the end of life. One should understand the importance of commitment and should not hesitate in taking therapy if needed. Nafisa Ali stressed on the need for youth to learn to love themselves, get out of violent relationships and have health and life insurance for every family. He said that today action and violence are dominating films instead of romance and music, while the effect of political pressure is clearly visible on films like ‘Dhurandhar’, which the youth should understand. Question: Nassar sir, when you heard the story of the film ‘Max, Min aur Myuzaki’, what was it that made you immediately say yes? Answer/Nasar: After listening to the story, I felt that it is not the story of any film, but of the people I know in my life. Every character felt real. There was no artificiality or drama anywhere. Everything was as natural as life. I felt that I could see a glimpse of myself and my son in this story. So I immediately said yes to the film. Question: Nafisa ji, why did you choose this film? Answer/Nafisa Ali: My first reaction was that I would not be able to do the film, because at that time I was fighting cancer. But Padmakumar trusted me and told the whole story. After listening to the story, I felt that this is today’s reality. Most of India’s population is below 28 years of age. It is important for the youth to understand that they also have responsibilities towards their parents and elders. Parents do everything for their children throughout their life, but today many children go away due to studies, job and other reasons. Many times they do not even have time for their parents. This film is a story of heart, soul and caring for each other. I thought this could be the story of my life too. That’s why I did this film. Question: In today’s young generation, relationships are formed quickly and also break quickly. How do you view communication gap, lack of patience and changing mindset? What advice would you like to give to the youth? Answer/Nafisa Ali: I miss my childhood. I too have loved a lot and been heartbroken many times. But I would like to tell the youth that if your heart gets broken then do not think that life is over or that you will not find love again. Don’t beat yourself up over the breakup. Don’t turn to drugs, don’t spoil your health and don’t move away from your family. Life is very beautiful and there is a right partner for every person. First of all learn to love yourself. If you love yourself then life will not stop due to someone’s death. Let go of those who break your heart. You yourself are most important to yourself. Question: Nassar Sir, what is the biggest difference you see between today’s relationships and earlier relationships? Answer/Nasar: I agree with Nafisa ji. The nature of relationships has been changing in every era. There is a big difference between the love stories of the 1960s and today’s films. The way women were shown earlier, now their role is stronger and independent. This is a good change. Today’s young generation has more freedom than ever before. But now breakups are being taken very lightly. Earlier the pain was felt for a long time, but now many people move on quickly. There is nothing wrong in moving forward, but if repeatedly making and breaking relationships becomes a habit, then it is a matter of concern. Even if the relationship ends, life does not stop. Focus on your dreams and career, but never forget the importance of commitment. Question: Today, instead of romance and music, more action and violence is being seen in films. What do you think is the reason for this? Answer/Nafisa Ali: The identity of our films was once love, relationships and music. But now the impact of action and violence is more visible. People are watching such films again and again, but the question is, how many times can violence be seen? I don’t completely blame the film makers, but they also have responsibilities towards the society. They should think about what kind of message they are conveying to the audience. Question: Do you think that films and the environment of society affect each other? Answer/Nafisa Ali: It definitely does. Today, many types of political thinking and influences are reaching films in the country. In such an environment, it is important for the youth to understand what kind of impact is being made on their minds. Every person should think according to his conscience. It is important to avoid any mental influence or distraction. We should also understand in which direction our thinking is going and whether it is right or not. Question: What would you like to say on the increasing domestic violence and aggressive behavior after the breakup of relationships? Answer/Nafisa Ali: Being a senior, I would definitely like to say that in our country a lot of violence is happening behind closed doors in the name of marriage and relationships. The government has launched several helplines and assistance systems. If a person is facing violence in a relationship, he should not remain silent. He should raise his voice. A person who behaves violently with you does not deserve to be with you. It is better to get out of such a relationship. No one should be forced to endure violence. Question: Nassar sir, the relationship between father and son in the film is very emotional. Did it remind you of your father? Answer/Nasar: Absolutely. I never wanted to be an actor. I belonged to an ordinary family and at that time a small job was my biggest dream. But my father wanted me to act. Whatever I am today, he has made the biggest contribution to it. Once I asked him why he had asked me to become an actor? He laughed and said that he himself did not know. If they had asked me to do some other work, I would have done the same with complete honesty and dedication. Question: Did you also remember your son while playing the father-son relationship in the film? Answer/Nasar: Yes. I could see my son in many scenes of the film. Therefore, maintaining this relationship was not like acting for me, but like living my life again. Question: Nafisa ji, you fought a serious disease like cancer. How important is family support in such times? Answer/Nafisa Ali: Family support is very important. I would like to tell everyone that every person must have health insurance and life insurance. A little savings every month can ensure the security of the family. There is no assurance in life. No one knows when what difficulty will arise. Treatment is very expensive in our country. The government helps, but sometimes it is not enough. Therefore, every family should make preparations in advance, so that financial problems do not become the biggest concern in case of illness. Question: Nassar sir, you also talked about friendship and therapy. How important do you consider this? Answer/Nasar: As age increases, the importance of a true friend increases. Such a friend, in front of whom you can say whatever is on your mind without any fear, whether it is relationship problems, family tension or any other problem. But therapy is also very important if needed. My wife is a psychologist, so I understand it very well. If you have mental problems, there should be no hesitation in taking help from an expert. This is not weakness, but wisdom.
