Actor Mukesh Khanna once again said Ranveer Singh was not right for the role of ‘Shaktimaan’. He said that negativity is visible on Ranveer’s face, hence he does not want to see him in this role, although he praised his acting. Ranveer Singh is getting a lot of appreciation these days for his roles in ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Dhurandhar 2’. Both the films performed well at the box office. Both the films together have grossed more than ₹3,000 crore worldwide. While talking to Hindustan Times, when Mukesh Khanna was asked whether his opinion about Ranveer Singh has changed after watching Dhurandhar, he said, ‘Everyone is trying to convince me that the film has worked, now Ranveer has become a big actor, but I do not want a big star for Shaktimaan. I want a specific image for that role, which I don’t see in Ranveer. That’s why I opposed it. I am not against his acting. Explaining the reason for his opposition, Khanna said that he (Ranveer Singh) can play a character like Alauddin Khilji, he has done ‘Gully Boy’, he has also done ‘Dhurandhar’ very well, I also praised him, but for me, to become Shaktiman, just being a good actor is not enough, a special face is also required. That face should suit Shaktiman. He further said that my only objection is that I should look powerful in his eyes. When he is standing, there should not be any cunningness visible in him. I can sign Ranveer for the role of Kilvish (villain), but not for Shaktimaan. Negativity is visible on his face, not positivity. Regarding making a film on Shaktimaan, he said, ‘The film should come, it should definitely come. We regret the interruption. Everyone knows what the problem is and what my opposition is.
