Movie Review: Bhoot Bangla: By giving expectations like Bhool Bhulaiya, Akshay Kumar-Priyadarshan pair disappointed, fear-comedy is incomplete, story and music also ineffective.

But this time in the film Bhoot Bangla, this pair is not able to show the same magic. The film is a mix of horror, comedy and mystery, but its effect is not seen equally everywhere. Take a look at the review of Bhoot Bangla – How is the story of the film? The story begins in the cursed village of Mangalpur, where it is believed that getting married is not without danger as the new bride is taken away by a demon named Vadhusur. Arjun Acharya (Akshay Kumar) lives in London with his father Vasudev and sister Meera. Meera’s marriage is fixed, when she learns that her grandfather has transferred property worth Rs 500 crore and the Mangalpur mansion to Meera. Arjun reaches Mangalpur to marry Meera at the same ancestral mansion. But as the wedding approaches, strange and scary incidents begin to occur in the mansion. During this time, many old secrets are revealed to Arjun and he comes to know that Meera is the target of Vadhusur, because by killing her, Vadhusur can become immortal. Now the story revolves around the question whether Arjun will be able to save his sister and Mangalpur from this danger. How is the acting of the star cast? This time Akshay Kumar does not fully live up to the expectations. His comic timing, which is his biggest strength, seems artificial and overworked here. Rajpal Yadav emerges as the real strong support of the film, his comedy sustains the film at many places. Paresh Rawal’s work is fine, but the expectations from him are not visible here. It seems as if he acted half-heartedly. The film’s lead actress Vamika Gabbi has got very little screen time and her chemistry with Akshay also seems forced. The use of actors like Tabu, Mithila Palkar and Jessu Sengupta also seems limited and incomplete. How is the direction and technical aspects of the film? This time Priyadarshan does not live up to his own standards. The screenplay of the film feels fragmented, while the first half seems quite drawn out and boring, while the second half picks up pace and manages the story to some extent. The use of sound in horror elements is effective at some places, but the atmosphere of fear is not created continuously. VFX looks weak and artificial at many places, which reduces the impact of the film. The dialogues are average and the comic punches at times seem as if they are already heard, which leads to less laughter and more disappointment. Overall, the direction does not show the edge and sharpness that is expected from this pair. How is the music of the film? The music of the film is its weakest aspect. People still remember the songs of Bhool Bhulaiyaa, but there is not a single song of Bhoot Bangla which is remembered after coming out of the theatre. Final Verdict: Watch the movie or not? Bhoot Bangla is a film that reminds of Bhool Bhulaiyaa, but does not provide that level of entertainment. The weak screenplay, lackluster music and mediocre acting keep it from being completely effective. If you want to watch the film for light horror-comedy and comedy of Rajpal Yadav, then you can watch it once.
