In an interview given to news agency PTI, 54-year-old Adnan Sami said, “Arijit has taken the decision to retire from playback singing in full consciousness. We should respect his decision. This is not a decision taken in haste, but there will be deep thinking behind it.” Adnan said this during the launch of his new single ‘Lipstick Laga Ke, Nazar Utar Le’ released under Zee Music Company. Arijit is not bound to tell the reason. Adnan further said that it is not at all necessary for Arijit to tell his reason to the public. He said, there must be some big reason behind this, which he himself knows better. There is no need to tell this to the world immediately. Everyone will come to know when the time comes. This is their life, when they feel comfortable, they will share the reason themselves. Till then we should give them personal space. Left singing at the peak of his career: In January this year, Arijit Singh had said goodbye to playback singing at the highest point of his career. He gave this information on Instagram post. On the question of pressure from music companies, Adnan clearly said that every company has its own policy. Some companies are very strict and some give complete freedom to the artists. He said, “If you don’t like their policy, no one is holding a gun to your head. The problem arises when the artist himself starts thinking that if he doesn’t agree, he will get into trouble. His mother was a classical singer and aunt a tabla player. He was interested in singing since childhood. Arijit Singh has sung more than 700 songs in many languages ​​including 532 Hindi, 144 Bengali and 25 Telugu in his musical career. He has won a total of 122 awards including 2 National Awards, 8 Filmfare Awards. Arijit Singh received the first National Award in the year 2018 for the song Binte Dil from Padmavat and the second National Award in 2022 for the song Kesariya from the film Brahmastra.
