On the controversy that broke out at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium in 2012, the then ACP Iqbal Shaikh recently told that there was an argument between Shahrukh Khan and MCA officials due to a misunderstanding, to prevent it from escalating, he had asked the actor to be taken out of the spot. This matter came to light after the 2012 IPL match, when Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Mumbai Indians. After the match, scenes of argument between Shahrukh Khan and the security staff were seen on the field. Iqbal Shaikh told in Shubhojit Ghosh’s podcast, ‘When I was at the main gate, my colleague told me that Shahrukh is creating a ruckus here.’ Sheikh told that at that time the match was over. He said, ‘I had an operator with me. At that time the match was over, almost everyone had left. Three out of four floodlights were also switched off. Everyone was leaving. The children who were playing there with Shahrukh Khan and his friends were playing on one side. He said, ‘The security there raised objection against him. When the security whistled, Shahrukh Khan did not like it. There was some discussion in that, then some people from security side and MCA spoke, then heated arguments took place among themselves. Shahrukh was asked to come out immediately. Iqbal Shaikh told that he reached the spot before the situation worsened and he directly asked Shahrukh Khan to come out. He told that the actor agreed to his request and the matter was settled there. After the incident, Mumbai Cricket Association had accused the actor of breaking the rules regarding entry into the stadium and misbehaving with the staff. A complaint was also lodged at Marine Drive police station. However, according to PTI report, Shahrukh Khan had denied the allegations of misbehavior. He said that he was worried about the security of his daughter Suhana Khan and other children.
