Sanjay Dutt’s daughter Trishala Dutt once wanted to come to Bollywood. The reason for this was not the dream of acting, but to be close to his father. Trishala said in the Inside Thoughts Out Loud podcast that in her childhood she felt that by joining films she would be able to spend more time with her father. Trishala is the daughter of Sanjay Dutt and his first wife Richa Sharma. Richa died of brain tumor in 1996. After this, Trishala grew up in America with her maternal grandparents. She told that when she expressed her desire to come to Bollywood, Sanjay Dutt had asked her whether acting was really her passion. According to Trishala, she had told her father that she just wanted to be close to him. On this, Sanjay Dutt explained that one does not become an A-list actress just by being a star kid. She advised her daughter to do only that in which she has genuine interest. Trishala said that her father has gone through a difficult phase in his life. He always tried to show them the right direction. Instead of making a career in Bollywood, Trishala chose the mental health field. He is now a therapist. He said that mental health is less openly talked about in the industry. She wanted to tell people that struggle is normal. Trishala also praised Deepika Padukone, who spoke openly about depression.
