Bengali cinema actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee died by drowning in the sea on March 29. This accident took place at Talasari Beach in Odisha during the shooting of the serial ‘Bhole Baba Paar Karega’. But now the makers of the show have claimed that Rahul was pulled out of the water alive and he was trying to talk. He was immediately taken to a nearby clinic, but no doctor was present there. After this he was taken to Digha State General Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The makers rejected media reports which said that the actor had remained underwater for a long time. The accident happened at Talasari beach. Rahul Banerjee was shooting a serial in Balasore district of Odisha. During this time he lost his life due to drowning in the sea. “All our crew members are in deep grief. We seek a few days’ time to speak to the people present there and present a neutral and detailed report,” the production house said in a statement to PTI. The makers have also invited the actor’s family and the West Bengal Motion Picture Artists Forum to be a part of the investigation process. Along with this, the production house has issued its official statement and assured of a fair investigation. He has said that an accurate report will be prepared by interrogating the crew members present at the time of the incident. Negligence will be investigated from every aspect. The production house has made it clear that every small possibility of negligence in this case will be investigated. He said, “All permissions and necessary documents related to the shooting will be handed over to the investigation team. We are fully cooperating with the authorities. Co-star’s claim – accident happened after pack-up. According to the police, the actor died during the shooting, but co-star Dingata Bagchi told PTI that after pack-up, he had gone alone into the sea, where his leg got stuck. There was chaos on the set after getting stuck in the waves. The team took him out and took him to Digha hospital. Rahul Arunoday Banerjee, who has worked in many Bengali films, got recognition from the 2008 film ‘Tumi Asbe Bole’ (2014), ‘Byomkesh Gotro’ (2018) and ‘The Academy of Fine Arts’.
