Yash Raj Films, the production company of YRF’s spy universe film “Alpha”, has rejected Netflix’s streaming offer of ₹215 crore. According to Variety India report, this decision was taken keeping in mind the theatrical release of the film in India in 2026. Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh are in lead roles in the film. The report quoted a source as saying that Netflix had offered a deal worth ₹215 crore to Yash Raj Films. Under this deal, the film was to be released directly on the OTT platform. However, the production company rejected the offer. In the report, a YRF spokesperson said, “The news of ‘Alpha’ releasing directly on OTT is purely a rumour. An attempt is being made to misrepresent a female-led film. Yash Raj Films will not bring any of its theatrical release films directly to streaming. We are a studio that takes pride in creating big screen experiences. ‘Alpha’ is a big and important film for our company.” He also said, “Through ‘Alpha’ we have tried to create something special. In the film, one of the country’s top actresses, Alia Bhatt, is in the lead role. Talented Sharvari will also be seen with her. We are confident that this film will completely entertain the audience and it will also get a lot of love like other action films.” Bobby Deol also plays an important role in Alpha. The film is being directed by Shiv Ravel. Earlier, he had directed the Netflix show “The Railway Men”. Release date of the film postponed: Let us tell you that the film Alpha was earlier scheduled to be released on December 25 last year, but the VFX work could not be completed on time. Therefore its release date was extended to 17 April 2026. At the same time, trade analyst Taran Adarsh had told that this date has also been extended because the makers wanted to avoid a clash with Salman Khan’s film Battle of Galwan in April.
