‘Ramayan’ trailer launch event: Ranbir touches Sunny Deol’s feet; Baba Ramdev took a dig at the budget of ₹4000 crore, did yoga on stage

The trailer of the film ‘Ramayana: Pratham Sankalp’ was launched on Saturday at an event organized at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Director Nitish Tiwari, producer Namit Malhotra and the star cast of the film were present on this occasion. The makers announced that the trailer will release worldwide on digital platforms on July 24. Ranbir Kapoor playing the role of Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi, Yash, Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey, Vivek Oberoi and other actors attended the event. During the event, Ranbir Kapoor touched Sunny Deol’s feet and took his blessings. The nearly four-minute trailer offered the first detailed look at the film’s gorgeous visuals, richly crafted world, and key characters. Let us tell you that Ramayana: Part 1 will be released in theaters on Diwali 2026, while Ramayana: Part 2 will be released in Diwali 2027. Baba Ramdev and Kumar Vishwas were also present in the program. Baba Ramdev also demonstrated yoga on stage at the event. At the same time, Baba Ramdev laughingly said that when he first heard that the budget of this film was Rs 4000 crore, he went into a trance after hearing this. On this, poet Kumar Vishwas, present on the stage, quipped, “Swami ji, your own Patanjali empire is worth Rs 2 lakh crore.” On this statement of Kumar Vishwas, the entire hall including Ranbir Kapoor erupted in laughter. At the same time, Baba Ramdev also shared things related to yoga and spirituality in his special style, hearing which Ranbir Kapoor was seen smiling. During the event, Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi went on stage to greet Baba Ramdev and also took blessings by touching his feet. Ranbir Kapoor was wearing dark glasses during the event. Important things related to the film ‘Ramayana’ – Ranbir Kapoor will be seen in the role of Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi Sita, Yash Ravana, Sunny Deol Hanuman and Ravi Dubey Laxman in the film. Arun Govil, who played the role of Ram in the 1987 TV show ‘Ramayana’, will be seen in the role of King Dasharatha in this film. The total budget of the film is said to be around Rs 4,000 crore, making it one of the most expensive films of Indian cinema. The film is being directed by Nitesh Tiwari, who made the highest-grossing Indian film Dangal. The music of the film was composed by Oscar winner A.R. Rahman and Hollywood composer Hans Zimmer are producing. The film is being produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios, DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. The film will be released on IMAX. The visual effects (VFX) work of the film is being handled by Oscar winner studio DNEG and Prime Focus. The film will be released in two parts. The first part will be released in theaters in Diwali 2026 and the second part in Diwali 2027.
