Actor Salman Khan and his family are going to build a new house in Bandra area of Mumbai. However, there is no official confirmation yet that Salman is moving out of his old house Galaxy Apartment. Salman’s family currently lives in Galaxy Apartment in Bandra. There was firing outside the apartment in the year 2024.
On June 16, the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) approved the construction of a six-storey sea-facing residential building in the Chimbai area of Bandra, Hindustan Times reported.
Land in the name of Salman’s mother Salma Khan
According to reports, this new plot is a few hundred meters away from Galaxy Apartments. According to the report of Hindustan Times, the new plot is named after Salman Khan’s mother Salma Khan. It has been told in the records of the MCZMA meeting that there was a two-storey house built here before 1956. This land was earlier in the name of Mary Clotilda Baptista. Later the owners changed several times and in 2011 the Khan family bought it. The old building was demolished because it was dilapidated.
Now ground, stilt and six-storey residential building will be built on this plot. This construction will be done under Regulation 33(16) of Development Control and Promotion Regulations 2034. According to the documents, 1.459 FSI will be used in the project. BMC had issued IOD (permission) on October 28, 2025.
According to the report, this project will be built by Sach Developers. The total construction area will be 1,014.11 square meters. A 6.01 meter wide access road will also be built from the municipal road to the building.
It is also written in the documents that no new tree will be cut for construction nor will any tree be planted at any other place. Instead, native trees will be planted around the project site and recreation areas.

Salman’s family has been living in Galaxy Apartment since 1974. Talking about Galaxy Apartment, it is an 8 storey building located in Bandstand area of Bandra. Salman lives here in a 1 BHK flat on the ground floor. His parents live on the first floor, so Salman always likes to be close to them. On Eid, Diwali and Salman’s birthday, thousands of fans gather outside Galaxy Apartment and Salman greets them from the balcony.
At the same time, in 2024, two bike-riding attackers had fired four bullets at the building. After this, the open balcony near his parents’ flat was covered with bulletproof glass.
