Actress Kajol recently told that initially she was uneasy about doing her first onscreen kiss in the web series ‘The Trial: Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhoka’. He told that he broke the three decade old no kissing policy only because of the demand of the character. In her three decade long career, Kajol has given many hit films like ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ and ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’. During this time he always followed the onscreen ‘no kissing policy’. However, while making her OTT debut in the year 2023 with the web series ‘The Trial: Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhokha’, she gave a kiss scene for the first time with onscreen co-star Jisshu Sengupta. When Kajol was asked a question regarding this in Lily Singh’s podcast. She said, ‘To be honest, it was a requirement of the role I was playing. It had a lot to do with that role and his thinking. It wasn’t just a kiss. It was about what she thought, what she wanted and what didn’t happen to her. What she trusted, what she could trust and what she couldn’t. This was a very important part of the entire story, so removing it would have meant removing an important part of the character. ‘I was very uncomfortable’ – Kajol When asked in the podcast whether Kajol changed as a person too, due to which she felt comfortable doing this, the actress said, ‘I was uncomfortable with it. I was very uncomfortable till I went to the set. Thinking about it later, it seemed okay, but I wasn’t sure whether I should actually do it or just say, ‘Cut!’ This won’t happen!’ But I felt that it was a professional decision and I could take it that day. In ‘The Trial’, Kajol played the role of Noyonika Sengupta, who resumes her legal practice after her husband’s scandal. This series is the Indian adaptation of the American show The Good Wife and is available on Jio Hotstar.
