Ranveer Singh’s film ‘Dhurandhar 2’ is embroiled in legal controversy. Delhi High Court on Wednesday directed the Central Government and the Censor Board (CBFC) to investigate the petition against the film. A Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) soldier has filed a PIL alleging that secret information related to army operations has been shown in the film. The court said that even though the film is fictional, security concerns cannot be ignored. Censor Board will investigate. The bench of Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyay and Justice Tejas Karia heard the matter. The court has asked the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to consider this petition and take a decision. The Court remarked that even though the film is a fictional story made for entertainment, its impact cannot be denied. The court has asked to investigate it under charges of violation of the Official Secrets Act. SSB jawan raised questions on security. This petition has been filed by SSB head constable Deepak Kumar. It has been said in the petition that the film has shown minute details of army operations, which may threaten the security and integrity of the country. According to the petitioner, certain places and characters have been shown in the film in such a way that they resemble senior officers and martyred soldiers. Showing such clear information is not right for the security of the country. The case was handed over to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the High Court did not completely reject the petition. The bench said that it is necessary to properly consider the issues raised by the petitioner and find a solution to them. The court has considered this writ petition as a presentation and handed it over to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Now the government and the censor board will have to take a final decision on this.
