South star Ram Charan and Jhanvi Kapoor’s film ‘Peddi’ is performing well at the box office, but controversy arose over Jhanvi’s character being shown excessively bold in the film.
After the audience’s protest, the film’s director Buchi Babu Sana has confirmed that all the controversial scenes have been removed from the film. In an interview given to Indian Express, he admitted that some scenes of the film were misleading.
Earlier, Buchi Babu had apologized publicly on social media.
The audience says that the film has focused more on the physical appearance of Jhanvi Kapoor’s character rather than the story.
Director Buchi Babu Sana gave clarification Seeing the growing controversy, director Buchi Babu Sana presented his side in the interview. He said, ‘Many people misunderstood Jhanvi Kapoor’s track. The main character in this film comes from a very backward hilly area. I wanted to show the straightforwardness of his character and the environment there. He wants to marry the girl he loves. In the process, some scenes were giving wrong messages. We have rectified our mistake and removed those scenes from the film.

Why was there controversy over Jhanvi’s scene? After the release of the film, the audience had objected to the way Jhanvi Kapoor’s character ‘Achiamma’ was shown on screen. People said that the camera was focusing more on Jhanvi’s physical appearance rather than her acting. Apart from this, there were protests regarding some romantic scenes shown between Ram Charan and Jhanvi in the film.
Have apologized on social media Earlier, Buchi Babu had also apologized to the audience by writing a post on the social media platform X. He had written, ‘I have always had great respect for women on and off screen. It was not our intention to show any female character in a bad light. If any part of the film has hurt people’s sentiments, we sincerely apologize. Every woman deserves respect.
Despite the controversy, great earnings at the box office Despite this entire controversy, the film ‘Peddi’ is continuously earning well at the box office. The film has collected more than Rs 300 crore worldwide. Apart from Ram Charan and Jhanvi Kapoor, Jagapathi Babu, Shiv Rajkumar, Divyendu and Boman Irani have also played lead roles in this sports action drama film.
