As soon as the news came out, the incomplete story of that second ‘Amrita’ i.e. Amrita Pritam started being remembered in Bollywood, on which efforts have been made to make a film for years. ‘Gustakhiyan’ became Bhansali’s dream project. Sanjay Leela Bhansali had made the biggest effort to bring Amrita Pritam’s life on the big screen. He has been working for a long time on a project named ‘Gustakhiyan’. Shahrukh-Priyanka’s name also made headlines. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s name was first revealed for Bhansali’s film. Later Kareena Kapoor Khan also joined this project. Shahrukh Khan was going to produce it through Red Chillies Entertainment and possibly play the role of Sahir himself. At the same time, the name of Priyanka Chopra Jonas was most discussed for the role of Amrita Pritam. The response of ‘Amri’ will give a new courage to the makers. It is believed that if ‘Amri’ becomes a topic of discussion among the audience and critics, then the filmmakers can again take the risk of bringing Amrita Pritam’s story on the big screen. At present, it remains one of the most talked about incomplete biopics of Hindi cinema, for which the audience has been waiting for years. Her love for Sahir Ludhianvi, her poems and later her relationship with Imroz always remained the center of attraction for people.
