Adivi Shesh is in the news these days for her action-drama film ‘Dacait: Ek Prem Katha’. Shesh, who has made his mark through films like ‘Kshanam’, ‘Gudhachari’ and ‘Major’, has once again prepared to present a new story to the audience through this film. In this exclusive conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, Adivi Shesh discussed his association with his upcoming film and other aspects of it. For me, the purpose of ‘Dacait’ was not just to show action, ‘Dacait’ is basically a love story first and foremost. I always look at it that way, it’s action woven into a love story, not love woven into an action story. If you have heard the song ‘Rubaroo’ from the film, which has been sung by Faheem Abdullah, then you get a very simple, spiritual and old-era love feeling in it. It reflects the same emotions that were once seen in old novels or love stories of previous generations. The basic idea of ​​the film was that when violence and intense action suddenly enters in the midst of such a simple, pure and emotional love, how the whole environment changes. This contradiction is the biggest strength of this story. For me, the purpose of ‘Dacait’ was not just to show action, but to show how conflict and violence play out within emotionally deep relationships. It is these elements that make the film different, broad canvas and believable. If I get a good script, I will do a film in German language also. My vision has always been clear. I had also said then that if I get a good script, I am ready to do a film in German language also. For me, it is not the language but the story that is important. After ‘Major’, I was offered 4-5 big war films and biopics from Hindi and South film industry, but the writer within me was stopping me again and again. I felt that it would not be right to be a part of another military-based story so soon after playing the character of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan. I wanted to be true to his parents’ feelings and their memories. For me, only that story matters, which affects me from within. Humanity begins with parents. I believe that love has never been a social subject, rather it has always been a very personal feeling. Emotional relationships between parents, siblings, and lovers have existed since the beginning of humanity. This does not mean that new stories cannot be told on these relationships.
