Filmmaker Ram Gopal Verma seems to be in trouble by supporting Ranveer Singh. Recently, Ram Gopal Varma had said on the allegation of non-cooperative directive imposed on Ranveer by FWICE (Film Federation of Western Cine Employees) that the Federation should be banned, not Ranveer. Now in the recent press conference, the Federation has strongly condemned Ram Gopal Verma and said that he owes Rs 1.25 crore payment to the Federation employees. Besides, Chief Advisor of the Federation Ashok Pandit has also demanded an apology.

Ashok Pandit condemned Ram Gopal Varma in the press conference and said, ‘After our last press conference, many people had commented on the federation, one of whom was Ram Gopal Varma, whom we respect very much. He criticized the federation in a long tweet, raised questions on our authority and used derogatory language against us.

He further said, ‘Of course, we live in a democracy and everyone has the right to express their views. But we would like to remind them that payments of more than Rs 1.25 crore are still outstanding to our technicians and employees. We are not making baseless allegations nor trying to settle any score. We are only reminding them of the case, which is pending since 2017. This case is related to his film Officer, in which Nagarjuna acted. We contacted them several times and tried to resolve the issue.

In the press conference, Ashok Pandit accused Ram Gopal Verma of non-payment and said, ‘In 2019, Ram Gopal Verma had written a letter to the Federation admitting that the payment of the members and other vendors of the Federation is outstanding. He had sought time till March 4, 2019 so that all the liabilities could be repaid. He also said that if this does not happen, then FWICE can take any action it deems appropriate. Now it is 2026 and those payments have not yet been made.

Finally, while warning Ram Gopal Varma, Ashok Pandit said, ‘We have strong objection to the language used against the Federation. Instead of abusing the organization, he should apologize to the Federation and settle these long pending dues.

What was Ram Gopal Varma’s statement?

After the announcement of Non-Cooperative Directive on Ranveer Singh, many people condemned it. On this, Ram Gopal Varma supported Ranveer and wrote from his official social media account, ‘Ban FWICE, not Ranveer Singh. The so-called “ban” or “non-cooperation” being done in the style of Gandhiji will ultimately become a big joke for FWICE.

‘This is not the safety of the industry or the people working in it, as they are claiming. This is just an attempt to show power, which is being carried out by a very old and dysfunctional union system, which is somehow struggling to maintain its hold.

He further wrote, ‘Whether FWICE claims that it represents 5 lakh or 50 lakh employees, the bitter truth is that most of those lakhs of people are not even aware of the inside facts of both the parties related to this dispute.

FWICE is neither a court nor a regulatory body authorized by the government. At best it can be called a “kangaroo court”, which by definition pretends to deliver justice, but in reality ignores established legal rules, due process and fairness.

This is because its decisions are often already decided in private meetings by a group of people with a particular agenda. These also include such actors, who are deeply scared of the tremendous success of Ranveer Singh’s film Dhurandhar.

Now know what is the whole matter-

FWICE had issued a non-cooperation against Ranveer Singh on May 25, under which the organization had asked all its members not to work in any of Ranveer’s projects.

This entire controversy was related to Ranveer Singh’s exit from the film Don 3. This film was being produced by Farhan Akhtar’s company Excel Entertainment.

In the case, it was said that Ranveer Singh walked out of the project just three weeks before the preparations for the film were completed and the shooting started. The makers had demanded a compensation of Rs 45 crore from Ranveer in lieu of the loss incurred due to leaving the project.
