Actress Madhuri Dixit has objected to the trolling and body shaming on social media regarding Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s look at the Cannes Film Festival 2026. Talking to news agency PTI, Madhuri said that Aishwarya is a global star and has brought laurels to the country as a former Miss World.
The success of any woman cannot be judged by her weight, dress size or age. Actress Trupti Dimri, who was present with Madhuri on this occasion, also supported Aishwarya Rai and Ananya Pandey.

Trolling sends wrong message to youth

He said, ‘When you make such comments, what message are you giving to today’s youth? That is, your value is based on how you look, not on your achievements.
I think this is completely the wrong message. Madhuri said that Aishwarya is as beautiful from inside as she looks from outside.

Madhuri’s upcoming film ‘Maa Behan’ co-star Trupti Dimri also expressed her opinion on this matter. He also defended Aishwarya as well as Ananya Panday. Ananya was recently trolled on social media for a dance scene in her film ‘Chand Mera Dil’.
Trupti said, ‘It is very easy to comment on people while sitting comfortably at home. But being in his place is a different thing. Be it Ananya or Aishwarya ma’am, both have worked hard in their lives and are achievers.

On the changing culture of reviews in the film industry, Madhuri said that earlier films were released on Friday and their reviews used to come till evening. But now digital media needs content for every little thing, so comments start coming as soon as the movie starts. According to Madhuri, today people decide whether they want to watch something or not by scrolling on the mobile screen for just three seconds. In this changing era, artists will have to accept it and move forward.
