Nora Fatehi will become the first Bollywood actress to perform at the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2026. The ceremony will take place on June 12 at BMO Field in Toronto, Canada.
The official handle of FIFA World Cup has informed that Nora Fatehi will perform at the opening ceremony.
Earlier, Nora had performed at the closing ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2022 and the opening ceremony of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. Now she will become the first and only Bollywood artiste to perform at the opening ceremonies of the Football and Cricket World Cups.
Nora Fatehi performed the official anthem ‘Light the Sky’ during the closing ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2022 on 18 December 2022.
Nora Fatehi performed at the opening ceremony of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on 7 February 2026.
Three separate opening ceremonies will be held
Let us tell you that this time the World Cup is being held in three countries (America, Mexico and Canada), hence FIFA has planned to organize three different opening ceremonies before the first match of each host country.
Bangladeshi-origin American DJ Sanjoy will also perform at the Canadian ceremony. Sanjoy had prepared an official remix of the famous song Chammak Challo from the Bollywood film ‘Ra.One’ in 2011. Apart from Nora and Sanjoy, this event will include artists like Michael Bublé, Alanis Morissette, Alessia Cara, Aliana, Jessie Reyez, VeggieDream and William Prince.

Singer Katy Perry will also perform in the World Cup
Singer Katy Perry will perform at the opening ceremony of the World Cup to be held in America. Katy Perry also shared this news on Instagram. She told that she will perform at the opening ceremony in Los Angeles, America on June 12.
American singer Katy Perry will perform for the first time at the opening ceremony of the FIFA Men’s World Cup.
This event will be held at SoFi Stadium in California, where the match between America and Paraguay will be played. Apart from Katy Perry, Lisa, Tyla, Anita and Rema will also perform at the opening ceremony.
Tyla, Alejandro Fernandez, Danny Ocean, Lila Downs, Belinda, J Balvin and the bands Los Angeles Azules and Mana will perform at the opening ceremony in Mexico City on June 11.
Shakira announces new song
Shakira will also return in FIFA World Cup 2026. He has announced a new song ‘Dai Dai’ for the tournament. Nigerian singer Burna Boy is also included in this song. Shakira’s 2010 World Cup anthem Waka Waka became quite famous.
The FIFA World Cup 2026 will be held from June 11 to July 19. A total of 104 matches will be played in the tournament. The first match will be held in Mexico City while the final will be held in New Jersey.
