Now Farhan has openly expressed his views on the ongoing dispute between actor Ranveer Singh and director Farhan Akhtar regarding the film ‘Don 3’. Farhan has described this as a ‘difficult’ chapter of his career. In an interview given to Hollywood India Reporter, Farhan Akhtar said, nothing can be taken lightly.
I have learned from this incident that you should always be prepared for the unexpected. Nothing can be considered certain until the shooting of the film is completed. Farhan further said that he has had many good experiences in his career, so he is not worried about one or two challenges and is taking it with ease.
According to media reports, production house ‘Excel Entertainment’ has suffered a loss of around Rs 40 crore due to Ranveer’s decision to withdraw from the film.
Why did the controversy start? The rift between Ranveer and Farhan started in December 2025. After the release of the film ‘Dhurandhar’, Ranveer Singh suddenly walked out from ‘Don 3’. Farhan and his partner Ritesh Sidhwani took the matter to the ‘Producers Guild of India’.
It was told in the meeting that Rs 40 crore had already been spent on the pre-production of the film and Ranveer had approved the script at every stage.
Ranveer Singh’s side and attempt to compromise On the other hand, sources close to Ranveer Singh said that when Ranveer’s career was going a bit slow, Farhan had put ‘Don 3’ on the back burner. For this reason Ranveer decided to leave the film.
After this, Ranveer has offered to return the signing amount of Rs 10 crore and give a part in his next film ‘Pralaya’ so that the loss can be compensated. However, sources from the production house have denied any final agreement as of now.
Ranveer got the role instead of Shahrukh Let us tell you that when Farhan Akhtar had announced ‘Don 3’, there was a lot of protest on social media over casting Ranveer Singh in place of Shahrukh Khan. Fans wanted to see Shahrukh as ‘Don’.
At that time Farhan had fully supported Ranveer. Now after Ranveer’s departure, the future of the film hangs in balance. At present, talks are going on between the two sides, but no concrete solution has been found.
