Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned the films Dhurandhar, The Kerala Story and The Kashmir Files at the NDA rally held in Thiruvalla, Kerala on Saturday. PM Modi said, ‘It has become the nature of Congress, UDF-LDF to lie in everything. When we brought the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), they lied, today CAA was implemented, there was no loss to the country. He said ‘The Keralam Story’ is a lie, he said ‘The Kashmir Files’ is a lie, he said ‘Dhurandhar’ is also a lie. He further said, ‘These days, such lies are also being spread regarding the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) and Uniform Civil Code (UCC). Goa has UCC for decades, but they are spreading wrong things about it too. They are in the business of spreading lies. The film Dhurandhar is Aditya Dhar’s film, which was released in two parts. It stars Ranveer Singh, Akshay Khanna, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt and Arjun Rampal in lead roles. The film is inspired by real geopolitical events like the 1999 Kandahar hijack and 26/11. The first part of the film was released on 5 December 2025, while its second part was recently released on 19 March 2026. Director Sudipto Sen’s film The Kerala Story (2023) focuses on the story of girls who were radicalized and instigated to join ISIS. Adah Sharma was in the lead role in the film. The sequel of this film ‘The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond’ was also released in February 2026. At the same time, the 2022 film The Kashmir Files directed by Vivek Agnihotri depicts the incidents of massacre and exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in the 1990s. It featured actors like Anupam Kher and Mithun Chakraborty.
