‘Mirzapur: The Movie’, the story of the underworld of Purvanchal, will be released in theaters on 4 September 2026. This has been confirmed by Prime Video in its event Prime Video Presents. The starcast of Mirzapur film participated in this program.
According to media reports, the main shooting of the film has been completed in February 2026 itself. The biggest discussion in the movie is about Divyendu Sharma i.e. ‘Munna Bhaiya’. Despite the character’s death being shown in the second season of the series, Divyendu is making a comeback in this film.
Apart from him, Pankaj Tripathi will once again be seen in the powerful character of Akhandanand ‘Kalin’ Tripathi. Ali Fazal (Guddu Pandit), Shweta Tripathi (Golu Gupta) and Abhishek Banerjee (Compounder) will also return to their old roles.

Shooting of the film ended in February
The film is directed by Gurmeet Singh, who directed many important episodes of the original series. The film has been made under the banner of Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s company ‘Excel Entertainment’.
Shweta and Ali confirmed that the shooting of the film was finished in February itself and it is now in the post-production stage. The makers are trying to make it a cinematic experience on a large scale.

In a joint statement, producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani said, “Bringing the Mirzapur experience to the big screen is a milestone for us. After three successful seasons, fans have grown attached to the characters like Kaalin Bhaiya, Guddu Bhaiya and Munna Bhaiya.
We are confident that turning this series into a film will be more engaging than ever for the audience. We are very excited to once again be associated with Prime Video for this grand project.”
Mirzapur’s journey started in 2018
‘Mirzapur’ started on the OTT platform in the year 2018. It is one of India’s most successful and popular crime-thriller series. Till now it has had three seasons and all three have received tremendous response from the audience.
It has a unique fan following due to its powerful dialogues and desi action. Considering this popularity, the makers have decided to release it in theatres.
