Manoj Muntashir, dialogue writer and lyricist of the film ‘Adipurush’, has come under attack from people on social media after one of his statements. In an interview, Manoj Muntashir called the protesters ‘traitors’ regarding the ongoing protest at Jantar Mantar against the NEET paper leak and lathicharge on students in Delhi.

He said that he is saying this with full responsibility and he will never go to Jantar Mantar. However, in the same interview, he also supported the youth by raising questions on the failure of the government and administration on the NEET paper leak issue.

What did Manoj Muntashir say on the Jantar Mantar protest? In a conversation with ‘Times Now Navbharat’, 50 year old lyricist Manoj Muntashir made it clear that he will never go to Jantar Mantar. He said, “I will not go to Jantar Mantar because the people representing it at this time are not the ones with whom I would feel comfortable standing.”

He further said that they are listening to the speeches and watching the people coming there. People are coming there saying things like ‘India will break into pieces’ and ‘Kashmir is not a part of India’. Manoj said that he is calling them traitors with great responsibility.

Government and system under siege over NEET paper leak During the interview, along with opposing the protesters of Jantar Mantar, Manoj Muntashir raised questions on the central government and administrative machinery on the NEET paper leak issue.

He said that the youth of the country deserve a better system than this. No one in the world can say that leaking of NEET paper is a good thing. This is absolutely wrong. If even one child dies because of this entire system, then it is a failure and accountability of the entire system.

Users trolled on social media As soon as the video of this statement of Manoj Muntashir surfaced on the social media platform X (Twitter), users started trolling him. One user wrote, “What is the definition of a traitor, Manoj Muntashir? It is not right to change ideology for the sake of career. If thousands of youth of the country are traitors then no one can save this country.”

Another user commented that I pray to God that the coming generations should not be treated the same way you are treating this generation.

He has written many popular songs like ‘Teri Galiyan’, ‘Teri Mitti’ and ‘Desh Mere’. However, after the film ‘Adipurush’ released in the year 2023, he was embroiled in a big controversy.

There was huge protest across the country regarding the language of dialogues related to Lord Ram, Sita and Hanuman in the film. After huge protests, the makers had to change the dialogues of the film. Even after this, Manoj Muntashir remains in the news for his political and social statements.
