During the event of Ekta Kapoor’s reality show ‘Lock Up Season 2’, Riteish Deshmukh was asked a question about Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt. Ritesh refused to answer on this.

In the press conference, he was asked, “Since your closest friends are Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt. They have a lot of experience in ‘Lock Up’, so will you bring them on the show and what punishment will you give them?” To this Ritesh said, “I don’t think I would like to give him any respect by answering your question.”

After this the person asking the question said that he has asked an easy question. To this Ritesh replied, “Your question is, I do not want to answer it. My job is only to host the show. As a host, I do not know in advance which prisoners or guests are going to come on the show. Whatever guests come, we interact with them.”

‘Lock Up: Truth or Punishment’ will start from June 27

After four years, a new season of the reality show ‘Lock Up’ is coming. The makers have named it ‘Lock Up: Sach Ya Saja’. This time the show will premiere on 27 June 2026. Now this show will stream on Netflix. The first season was shown on MX Player and Alt Balaji. This time the hosts have also changed. The first season was hosted by Kangana Ranaut, but in the new season Farah Khan and Riteish Deshmukh will be seen in her place. Both will play the role of ‘jailer’ in the show.

It is noteworthy that Netflix in India has big stars, big budget and global recognition. Still, it could not create a cultural impact like Amazon Prime, JioHotstar and other OTT platforms.

While other platforms were successful in creating characters and stories that became part of the public conversation, many of Netflix’s popular projects were forgotten shortly after their release. To understand this, Dainik Bhaskar had talked to director Vivek Sharma, writer Dheeraj Mishra and trade analyst Atul Mohan.

Vivek Sharma said that Netflix trusted big stars and big banners rather than new filmmakers and new stories. The platform should focus on new talent and strong content.

At the same time, Dheeraj Mishra said that Netflix lagged behind in understanding the preferences and emotions of the common Indian audience. He believes that through ‘Lock Up 2’ the platform is trying to connect with a larger audience.

Atul Mohan said that Netflix’s premium positioning and expensive subscription limited its reach. Platforms that provide more value at a lower price have taken the lead in the Indian market. Read the full news here…
