Last weekend we snuck off to celebrate our 18th anniversary to our favorite part of Texas: the Hill Country. It was perfect weather to sit out and enjoy wine and each other. I won’t lie my packing was all over the place for this trip; I kind of last minute, late night rush packed for an early morning trip the next day and the end result was kind of a mess. I ended up wearing these jeans multiple times but somehow pulled off some looks that I’ll share this week! I haven’t been shopping this January so nothing new came along (besides this rented striped top I’m obsessed with) and it made me realize how much I rely on ‘new’ items when I travel instead of leaning on old favorites. I don’t have any wisdom or other thoughts to add to this right now, but I did recognize the difference of my packing without a shopping trip.

I did last minute grab this viral suede jacket to throw in and I’m so glad I did. I loved this very unplanned outfit that came together for a day of wine tasting. I can’t explain to you just how soft this jacket it — it’s the softest faux suede ever. But it looks so real. This was a keeper from an Amazon try on in December and it has been one of my favorite for this mild winter. It went viral on LTK / Instagram so I thought why not try it to see if it’s worth the hype. And it is. (I prefer this one over the viral Zara one!) I’m in the large of the jacket and it’s a cropped look so I like this size for me. It’s most like true to size, as this fits roomy and because it’s cropped this gives me a bit more length. It’s lightweight as in the actual weight of it but it’s plenty warm for a jacket and fully lined. It actually looks like suede as well! It’s a really nice dupe and in great quality. Also I spilled something on it this weekend and it wiped right off. Microfiber for the win.

Find it from Amazon here!

If you like this look but not Amazon, there is a very similar one from Zara here. If I were purchasing the Zara one, I too would get a large in that jacket. I don’t trust Zara’s sizing so I always err on the side of it running small.

Also if I had to recommend THE pair of wide leg jeans to you, it’s the Perfect Vintage Wide Leg from Madewell. They’re so stretchy and comfortable and FLATTERING. I feel like a lot of denim lately has lost their stretch and I for one am sad about this. I love a 100% cotton denim, as well, but there is a time and a place for 2% elastane. And that time and place was last weekend, on my body. I’m in the 30 of the jeans, they run big! This pair is a bit big but honestly I like having a slightly looser fit for when my period comes to town. I can still wear denim even when I’m bloated.
