In a recent interview given to Bollywood Hungama, Mukesh Chhabra told that the casting of the film was not easy. He said that the story of the film was narrated to him for about 4 hours, after listening to which he was in shock and did not even realize the time. The casting process lasted for about two years. According to Mukesh, about 400 artists had to be cast including both the parts of the film. For this, he formed a team of six people and started searching separately for each role. He said that director Aditya Dhar had given him complete freedom and inspired him to think at a bigger level. He told that the casting process of the film lasted for about two years from 2024. During the casting, many actors refused for different roles. However, according to Mukesh, the director remained calm throughout and asked to explore new options. Ranveer Singh was initially finalized for the role of Hamza in the film and he immediately agreed. Actors left the role saying it was a multi-starrer film. Mukesh Chhabra also told that the role of Rahman Dacoit was not initially offered to Akshay Khanna. This role was rejected by 2-3 actors, which included a South Cinema actor and two Bollywood actors. According to him, these actors had argued that the film is a multi-starrer and it is mainly Ranveer Singh’s film. However, Mukesh refused to reveal the name and said that he would be regretting his decision after the release of the film. Ultimately the role went to Akshay Khanna, who received appreciation from the audience and the film achieved global success.
