Rajpal Yadav said: ‘Bhoot Bangla’ has both horror and comedy, does not ask for a role for Priyan sir’s film

Rajpal, who has played hundreds of characters in a career spanning nearly 25 years, still considers himself a student. He says that ‘when the actor understands the thinking of the character, his body language automatically changes. I never copy anyone. Working with Priyan sir was like studying the science of entertainment. Rajpal says, ‘My relationship with Priyadarshan goes back more than two decades. I never even asked him for the script. Whenever I get a call from him, he just says – “Rajpal, have to come…” So I reach the set without asking anything. This film has both horror and comedy. Working with Priyadarshan sir is like studying the science of entertainment in a university. Where every actor is a student. After ‘Chhota Pandit’, the audience will also like my new character. After ‘Bhool Bhulaiya’, the name ‘Chhota Pandit’ also gained popularity. On this Rajpal says that ‘No pressure is felt. In ‘Bhoot Bangla’ too, my character has been beautifully crafted and Priyadarshan Sir has given such shades of a common man in it, which the audience will be able to easily connect with and will also like. The architecture of the mansion of ‘Bhoot Bungalow’ creates fear. According to Rajpal, ‘In any film, location is not just a place but a character. While the mansion of ‘Bhool Bhulaiya’ had an atmosphere of Rajputana chic and mystery, the architecture and darkness of the mansion of ‘Bhoot Bangla’ creates a different kind of fear in itself. Priyadarshan sir has treated it like beautiful horror, which will make the audience feel as if they themselves are present inside that bungalow. Working with Akki Paaji is always like a roller coaster. Talking about working with Akshay again, Rajpal says, ‘The biggest quality of Akki Paaji is that he is like a live actor all the time. Whether the camera is on or off, his energy level on the set remains the same.
