Film maker Priyadarshan has come to the defense of his old friend and actor Rajpal Yadav. After Rajpal got interim bail in the check bounce case, Priyadarshan declared him innocent.
He said that Rajpal has fallen into a trap laid by someone, but seeing his honesty, many people from the film industry have come forward to help him.
He was released on the evening of 17 February after being in Tihar Jail for 12 days.

These days Rajpal Yadav is facing legal proceedings in a check bounce case of Rs 9 crore. This case is related to the loan taken for his 2010 film ‘Ata Pata Lapata’. Rajpal had borrowed Rs 5 crore from businessman Madhav Gopal Aggarwal.
With interest and penalty this amount has now increased to Rs 9 crore. In the case, Rajpal Yadav had surrendered in Delhi’s Tihar Jail on 5 February. Recently Rajpal has deposited Rs 1.5 crore in the court, after which he has been granted interim bail till March 18.
Rajpal Yadav will be seen in 2 films Bhoot Bangla and Haiwaan directed by Priyadarshan.
Priyadarshan said – There is no one as straightforward as Rajpal
Priyadarshan and Rajpal have worked together in many superhit films in the last two decades. Talking about their friendship, Priyadarshan said, I have known Rajpal for many years. I can say that he is the most innocent actor ever.
He was so innocent that he fell into someone’s trap. Our relationship will never change because of this legal matter.
People from the industry came together to help
The director further said that it is because of Rajpal’s good-heartedness that people are standing with him today. He said, if there was someone else in Rajpal’s place, perhaps so many people would not have come together to help.
People are helping him because they know how genuine this person is. His innocence is clearly visible both on his face and in his heart.
Priyadarshan increased Rajpal Yadav’s fees
