Controversy has arisen regarding singer Honey Singh’s concert to be held in Pune, Maharashtra. Pune District Child Protection Officer Mangesh Jadhav wrote a letter to city police commissioner Amitesh Kumar, expressing concern over Honey Singh’s songs and alleging that his songs promote alcohol, drugs and gun culture. According to the PTI report, Jadhav has asked the police department to make the content of Honey Singh’s program socially responsible and in accordance with child safety norms. This letter was written on Thursday after a complaint by Dr. Panditrao Dharenwar of Chandigarh to the Maharashtra Women and Child Development Department. The letter said that Honey’s songs like One Bottle Down, Chaar Bottle Vodka, Manali Trance, This Party Getting Hot, Makhna, Goliyan and Millionaire contain objectionable content. In this, concern was also expressed regarding the presence of children under 18 years of age in his live concert. Mumbai show also mentioned in the letter Jadhav also mentioned a show held in Mumbai on March 28, where abusive language was allegedly used on stage. The show was part of Honey Singh’s My Story Tour, in which songs like Millionaire, Desi Kalak, Mafia Mundeer and Dope Shop were performed. The letter asked the Police Commissioner to take necessary steps to ensure that the content of the program is in accordance with the law and child protection standards. The show was originally scheduled to take place on April 4, but was postponed due to bad weather. Now the show will be held on 18 April 2026.
