It doesn’t get much more classic than pairing black and white pieces together. I know that, for me, it’s a go-to move when I’m stuck on what to wear. Some may find the combination boring, but it totally depends on the pieces themselves.
This look combines white straight-leg jeans with a black turtleneck bodysuit to create an outfit that’s both highly chic but extremely comfortable, which is always the goal for me! The jeans are a mid-rise by arguably my favorite denim brand, AGOLDE, and are loose through the legs so you can really wear any shoes with them. I’m also mildly obsessed with the bodysuit — it’s by Commando and has a thong back so no panty lines, plus the turtleneck aspect makes it so perfect for winter. Styling hack, I always fold my turtleneck in halfway to make more of a mockneck. It feels more flattering.
To create even more of a striking contrast with the black and white, I made sure the jeans were the only white piece and made everything else black from the coat and shoes, to the handbag and belt. The black wool wrap coat is by MANGO and looks fabulous both belted or not, depending on your vibe.
Bottom line, is that when you’re in doubt and need something classic, timeless, and undeniably chic to wear, go for a black and white ensemble because, while it may seem basic, it’s anything but when you pair the right pieces together.
