The Food and Drug Administration said there have been 45 illnesses and 12 hospitalizations in the U.S. related to this recall.
WASHINGTON — The Food and Drug Administration expanded the dietary supplement recall tied to a salmonella outbreak to include Puerto Rico, Guam, U.S. Virgin Islands and the United Kingdom.
In a Jan. 20 update, the food safety agency said the recalled products, Live It Up-brand Super Greens dietary supplement powder in original and wild berry flavors, were sold in the U.K., as well as in the U.S. and U.S. territories.
Additionally, the FDA added that it is aware “there may be unauthorized 3rd party distribution to consumers through ebay.com, Walmart.com, or other sites.” Products were also sold through the direct-to-consumer website since September 2024 and on Amazon since July 30, 2025.
Last week, the FDA announced a nationwide salmonella outbreak was tied to the dietary supplement. They urged consumers to immediately thro away the supplement.
The agency urged anyone who had purchased the product with expiration dates from August 2026 to January 2028 to not consume it.
The outbreak infected at least 45 people with salmonella across 21 states, with at least 12 people hospitalized, the FDA said in its initial alert. No deaths and no additional illnesses from the original recall have been reported. Illnesses started on dates ranging from Aug. 22 to Dec. 30.
“To determine a source of contamination, the FDA is conducting a traceback investigation of products ill people reported consuming before becoming ill and is working with state partners to sample products of concern,” the agency said. “Additional products may be contaminated, and this advisory will be updated as more information becomes available.”

What should I do if I bought the salmonella-contaminated product?
Anyone who purchased the Live It Up-brand Super Greens powder should throw the product away or return it to the place of purchase, the FDA said. Retailers who bought the product should also clean and sanitize any surfaces or containers that the product touched.
Anyone who developed symptom of Salmonella infection, including diarrhea, fever and abdominal cramps, should contact their healthcare provider. Symptoms of infection usually show up within 12 to 72 hours after eating the contaminated product.
