Asha Bhosle was born on 8 September 1933 in Sangli district of Maharashtra.
Singer Asha Bhosle will be cremated today at 4 pm at Shivaji Park in Mumbai. He died on Sunday at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. She was 92 years old.
Asha was admitted to the hospital on Saturday night due to several medical problems. Doctors could not save him due to multi-organ failure (many organs of the body had stopped functioning).
Asha Bhosle won more than 100 awards including 9 Filmfare in her 82-year-old singing career. He was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, the country’s second highest civilian award. Therefore, he will be cremated with state honours.

Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis reached Asha Bhosle’s house late on Sunday evening and paid tribute.
Sung my first song at the age of 10 Asha Bhosle was the daughter of classical singer Dinanath Mangeshkar and younger sister of Lata Mangeshkar. Her father passed away when she was just 9 years old. For this reason, like Lata, Asha also had to start singing at an early age. Asha sang her first song at the age of 10.
Asha Bhosle sang more than 12,000 songs in more than 20 languages in her career. His songs ‘In Aankhon Ki Masti’, ‘Dum Maaro Dum’, ‘Piya Tu Ab To Aaja’ and ‘Chura Liya Hai Tumne’ are popular even today.

Many people including PM Narendra Modi, Shahrukh Khan, Hema Malini expressed grief over the demise of Asha Bhosle.

I am deeply saddened by the demise of Asha Bhosle, one of India’s most iconic and versatile voices. Her extraordinary musical journey, which spanned decades, enriched our cultural heritage and touched countless hearts around the world. Be it his soulful tunes or vibrant compositions, his voice had a timeless sparkle. I will always cherish my meetings with him. My condolences to his family, fans and music lovers. She will continue to inspire generations to come and her songs will always resonate in people’s lives.


Shahrukh Khan said,
The news of Asha Tai’s demise is very sad. His voice has been one of the pillars of Indian cinema and will continue to resonate across the world for centuries. She was a talent that is beyond time. He always showered his love and blessings on me, I will miss him a lot. Rest in peace Asha Tai. Love you.
