Ranveer Singh’s film Dhurandhar 2 is doing well at the box office, but former Lok Sabha MP and Kannada actress Ramya has strongly criticized the film. After watching the film, which was released on March 19, Ramya shared a long post on the social media platform X (Twitter). He has advised the audience not to waste their time and money by going to theatres, but wait for it to come on OTT. Ramya also wrote that people are saying that Ranveer has carried the film on his shoulders, but I could only see his hair. Called the direction and dialogues useless, Ramya has raised questions on every department of the film. He described the film’s direction, dialogues, editing and background score as very poor (subpar). He sarcastically wrote that it seems as if the makers released the film without thinking under the pressure of the deadline. According to Ramya, watching the film, it feels as if the makers have simply said, “Yes, it’s perfect, send it”, while no attention was paid to the details in the film. While commenting on Ranveer Singh’s performance in the film, Ramya took a dig at Ranveer Singh’s hair in a very funny tone. He wrote, “People are saying that Ranveer has carried the film on his shoulders, but all I saw was his hair. In the first part of the film, his hair had a personality, but in this part they are just blocking the scenes. His hair should be nominated for ‘Best Supporting Role’.” Questions raised on the violence and logic of the film: Ramya also criticized the excessive violence shown in the film. He described the film as a ‘visual handbook of weapons’, in which even simple objects like syringes and spanners have been used as weapons. Questioning the logic of the film, he said, “Even after cutting off both the legs and pouring kerosene on the body, the character is speaking dialogues as if he is in a ‘Ted Talk’. For this, he should get Nobel Prize, not Oscar. Jai to medical science.” Advice to stay away from jingoism and propaganda: Ramya called the film a ‘huge disappointment’ and ‘boring’. He advised director Aditya Dhar that now the era of jingoism and propaganda has become old, he should come out of it. He also told Ranveer Singh that he is a much better actor than such films.
