Actor Ajit Kumar’s mother passes away: CM Vijay and Trisha Krishnan reached home and paid tribute

Actor Ajith Kumar’s mother Mohini Mani died on Saturday in Chennai (Tamil Nadu). She was 85 years old and was suffering from age-related diseases and health complications. Mohini’s last rites were performed at Besant Nagar crematorium on Sunday morning. His mortal remains were brought from his residence in Inzambakkam to Besant Nagar cremation ground. Ajit carried his mother’s mortal remains on his shoulders for the last time and took them to the cremation ground. According to News 18 report, the last rites were performed by Ajit Kumar’s brother Anil Kumar. After receiving information about his mother’s demise, Ajith Kumar reached Chennai and reached his residence at Injambakkam-Palvakkam on the outskirts of the city. After the news of Mohini Mani’s demise, celebs associated with the film industry have expressed condolences to Ajit and his family. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay and actress Trisha Krishnan reached Ajith Kumar’s residence on Saturday evening. Both paid tribute to him. Actor Sarathkumar, Nasir, director Shankar, A.L. Many film personalities including Vijay, Shiva also came to pay tribute. Chief Minister Vijay said that he is deeply saddened by the news of the demise of his dear friend and actor Ajith Kumar’s mother Mohini Ammaiyar. He expressed condolences to Ajit Kumar and his family while praying for the peace of the departed soul. Ajith’s father died in 2023. Ajith Kumar is a very famous actor of Tamil cinema. He has worked in many films like ‘Kaadhal Kottai’, ‘Vaali’, ‘Deena’, ‘Billa’, ‘Mankatha’, ‘Vishwasam’ and ‘Valimai’. Ajith’s father P. Subramaniam was a Tamil Brahmin resident of Palakkad, Kerala. He died in the year 2023. His mother Mohini belonged to the Sindhi community and was a resident of Kolkata. Ajit is the second among three brothers. His elder brother Anup Kumar is a stockbroker in New York, while younger brother Anil Kumar is a businessman. Ajit married actress Shalini in the year 2000. Both of them met on the sets of the film ‘Amarkalam’. They have two children, daughter Anushka and son Advik.
