Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has given clarification on his statement about fake and false films given at the time of release of Dhurandhar 2. In a recent interview, he clarified that his statement was misrepresented and his target was not any particular film or actor.

Nawazuddin said in an interview to Zoom that when he talks about the shortcomings of films, he does not target any recent release or specific project. He clarified that he was referring to the film making going on in the 70s and 80s. According to Nawaz, the beauty of the film industry is that there is space for every type of cinema here.

He said, “On one hand, there are big films like ‘Dhurandhar’ which do crores of business and are watched by millions of people. On the other hand, there are films like mine which are made on a very low budget.” Nawaz said that his entire film can be prepared in the same amount of money that is spent on one day’s expenses for big films.

What was the whole matter? This controversy started when Nawaz had said in an old interview that nowadays ‘fake and false’ films are being made, in which only publicity is used. He had said that fabricated stories were being created and a particular narrative was being set. Since this statement came at the time of release and discussion of the film ‘Dhurandhar’, people started linking it directly to Ranveer Singh and director Aditya Dhar.
