Fraud allegations against South actress: Claim- Cheated of Rs 9.35 crore in the name of marriage with NRI, Said- Will take legal action against those spreading wrong news

Recently, a complaint has been filed against Ashu Reddy, a popular South actress and former contestant of Bigg Boss Telugu, in Hyderabad on charges of fraud. There are allegations that the actress has cheated an NRI of Rs 9.35 crore. After coming into the limelight, the actress is now releasing a post on social media that she will take action against those spreading rumours. Ashu Reddy recently wrote from the official social media account, “Strict legal action will be taken against any news or misinformation being spread without my permission. Be respectful.” What is the whole matter? Recently, an NRI software engineer named Dharmendra has filed a complaint of fraud against 3 people including an actress in Hyderabad. According to the complaint, Dharmendra, a software engineer and NRI, had come to Hyderabad to meet his family in 2018. Here a common friend introduced him to actress Ashu Reddy. Ashu had told that she is studying in America. The two soon became friends, even though Dharmendra was divorced. The discussion between both of them reached the point of marriage. Ashu promises to marry her and says that he has no problem with being divorced. After some time, Ashu took money from Dharmendra in the name of repaying the education loan and then took money to buy many expensive things including flat, gold and car. The Times of India report quoted a policeman as saying that the actress took money from Dharmendra for years, but then in 2020 asked him to wait for some time on the matter of marriage. In 2020, both the families were to meet for the marriage, but then the actress refused to marry. When Dharmendra asked for the money back after the marriage broke up, the actress flatly refused to return the amount. According to the report, the actress had promised to return Rs 70 lakh, but did not return that too. Later the actress’s family claimed that the actress is in depression and wants to marry Dharmendra only. The complainant gave the relationship another chance, but then reneged on the promise of remarriage in July 2025. It has also been claimed in the complaint that at the time when the actress had given the promise of marriage in 2025, she was still in a relationship with someone else and was also taking money from him.
