5 actresses including Varsha Usgaonkar cheated of ₹47 lakh: Case registered against producer; Trapped in the name of investment in property, threatened on asking for money

Actress Varsha Usgaonkar, who worked in superhit films like Tiranga and Doodh Ka Karz, has become a victim of fraud worth lakhs. Apart from Usha, 4 other actresses have also been cheated. After which a complaint has been filed in Mumbai against film producer and builder Avinash Jadhav. There are allegations that Avinash Jadhav has defrauded these actresses of Rs 47 lakh in the guise of investment. Marathi film and theater actress Mrinalini Subhash Jambhale is also among these victims. He has lodged a complaint against Avinash Jadhav in Mumbai’s Shivaji Park Police, after which investigation has been started in the case. According to the complaint, accused Avinash Jadhav knew these actresses for a long time. Jadhav had described himself as a big builder and film producer. He lured the actresses with the promise of higher profits in less time if they invested in a construction project located in Dombivali. He promised to return the entire principal amount within a year. Actresses started investing between November 2019 and February 2020. Mrinalini Jambhale, Varsha Usgaonkar and three others had together given a total of Rs 47 lakh to Jadhav through checks and online payments. Initially, to win the trust, Jadhav also returned Rs 4 lakh 52 thousand, but after that he stopped giving the money. Jadhav changed the number and threatened the victim actresses allege that when they contacted to demand their money back, the accused changed his mobile number and address. After a lot of searching, when the actresses reached Dombivali and asked for their rights, Jadhav threatened them. He clearly said that he will not return the money, anyone can do whatever they want. After this, after realizing the fraud, the actresses went to the police station and lodged an FIR. Case registered against accused under various sections of IPC Shivaji Park Police has registered a case against accused Avinash Jadhav under sections 420 (cheating) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC. The police is now investigating how many more people the accused has trapped in his net. Police may soon send summons to the accused for questioning. Varsha Usgaonkar is still active in films. Varsha Usgaonkar has been a popular actress of the 90s. He has worked in many big Hindi films like ‘Honeymoon’, ‘Tiranga’, ‘Sone Ki Zanjeer’ and ‘Ghar Aaya Mera Pardesi’. Along with Hindi, he is also a well-known name in Marathi cinema and even today he is quite active in films and serials.
