‘There is no negativity in the family’: Hema Malini dismisses rumors of tension in the family after Dharmendra’s demise

Rejecting the rumors of tension in the family after the demise of actor Dharmendra, the actress and his wife Hema Malini said that there is no negativity of any kind in the family. In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Hema Malini said, “Papa is there. We will do everything for Papa, whether these children are Isha and Ahana or those children are Sunny and Bobby. Everyone loves Dharamji very much and everyone loves each other very much. There is no bitterness of any kind in the family. When Dharamji is with us, there is no room for negativity.” Let us tell you that recently, both of Hema’s daughters, Isha and Ahana, reached the screening of Sunny Deol’s film Border 2 and all three also got pictures clicked together. However, Hema Malini did not attend the screening of the film, on which she has now reacted. Hema Malini said on this, “Dharam ji has always been the one who gives love, courage and good values. He has given all the same to his children. I was also invited, but I could not go. Everyone wanted me to come and watch the film. We do not show everything in public and why should we show it? All these are the things of our family. People should understand, we should not talk here and there. We are all fine and will handle this problem together.” Tribute was paid to Dharmendra at the BAFTA Awards Ceremony. Let us tell you that Dharmendra died on 24 November 2025. Dharmendra was paid a tribute in the ‘In Memoriam’ section of the 79th BAFTA Awards held in London last Sunday. He was the only Indian actor to be included in this section this year. Reacting to this honour, Hema said, “It was a very beautiful moment. He deserved it. It is a matter of pride not just for us but for the entire country. Dharmendra had fans not only in India but all over the world.” She also said that she regrets that she could not share the screen with Dharmendra for the last time. He said, “The work we did together is now in the memories of the audience. It is difficult to believe that he is no more.”
