Variety will host a Culture & Storytelling conversation exploring the role of cultural experiences in shaping creative work, presented by World of Hyatt, on Jan. 25 at the Sundance Film Festival.

Panelists include Molly Ringwald (“Run Amok”), Danielle Brooks (“If I Go Will They Miss Me”), Ali Ahn (“Take Me Home”), Rain Spencer (“Big Girls Don’t Cry”) and Dawn Porter (“When a Witness Recants”). These creatives will share firsthand insights into how cultural immersion influences their approach to character, narrative and production design, offering audiences a rare glimpse into the ways that environment and culture shape the art of storytelling.

The conversation will be moderated by Matt Donnelly, Senior Entertainment & Media Writer at Variety, who will guide the discussion through thought-provoking questions about creativity, authenticity and the intersection of culture and craft.

The panel will examine how immersing oneself in different locations and cultures on set influences not only the direction of a project but also the broader understanding of the world around us.
“Our collaboration with Variety at the Sundance Film Festival reflects World of Hyatt’s deep commitment to supporting creativity, storytelling, and the communities that bring culture to life,” said Katie Casey, AVP of global marketing, Hyatt. “The Sundance Film Festival is a powerful platform for diverse voices, and we’re proud to work with Variety to help celebrate filmmakers and create meaningful experiences at the intersection of hospitality and entertainment.”
