Taylor Swift is becoming a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame’s 2026 class.
The organization announced on the Wednesday, January 21, episode of CBS Mornings that Swift, 36 — alongside Walter Afanasieff, Terry Britten and Graham Lyle, Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons of Kiss, Kenny Loggins, Alanis Morissette and Christopher “Tricky” Stewart — will be inducted at the organization’s 2026 Induction and Awards Gala in June.
“The music industry is built upon the incredible talent of songwriters who create unforgettable songs. Without their artistry, there would be no recorded music, concert experiences or engaged fans,” Songwriters Hall of Fame chairman Nile Rodgers said in a statement on Wednesday. “Everything originates from the song and its creator. We take great pride in our ongoing commitment to recognizing some of the most culturally significant composers in history.”
Rodgers continued, “This year’s lineup not only showcases iconic songs but also celebrates unity across various genres. These songwriters have profoundly impacted the lives of billions of listeners worldwide, and it is our privilege to honor their contributions.”
Swift will make history as the youngest person ever to be inducted into the institution.
The Songwriters Hall of Fame listed “All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version),” “Blank Space,” “Anti-Hero,” “Love Story” and “The Last Great American Dynasty” as key songs in her catalog.
Created in 1969, the Songwriters Hall of Fame serves as a bridge between music’s past and future. In the Hall of Fame, musical pioneers are celebrated, while the organization’s outreach to the music community helps usher in the next generation of talent. A songwriter with a notable catalog of songs qualifies for induction 20 years after the first commercial release of a song.
Although Swift’s latest honor celebrates decades of success in the industry, there’s no denying the “Cruel Summer” singer had an extra special 2025. In addition to getting engaged to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, Swift released her record-breaking 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl.
She also unveiled The End of an Era docuseries, which was a six-episode behind-the-scenes event chronicling the development, impact and inner workings of the massive Eras Tour.
As 2026 begins, some fans may be wondering why Swift isn’t nominated for any trophies at the 2026 Grammys.
The Life of a Showgirl was never eligible for inclusion at the 2026 ceremony because of its October 3, 2025, release date. This year’s awards show honors records that were released between August 31, 2024, and August 30, 2025.
One person who has nothing but rave reviews for Swift’s latest album is Kelce, also 36.
“I’m just the lucky man that gets to be, you know, the support system for Taylor while she drops one of the coolest albums that I’ve ever listened to, that the world’s seen,” he said on his “New Heights” podcast in October 2025. “I’m excited for her. I’m happy for her. Everything seems to have gone perfectly, all this planning. You see it from start to finish. She started this thing in the middle of her tour in Europe.”
