EXCLUSIVE: Peacock is developing The Astrology House, a drama based on Carinn Jade’s novel of the same, with Christina Ricci set to star in and executive produce. Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin co-creator Lindsay Calhoon Bring is writing the adaptation, which is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.
The story follows the cosmically intertwined lives of Rini and Margot (Ricci). When Rini invites Margot and her family-and-friend group to vacation at her astrology retreat, long-held resentments, secrets and lies boil over, culminating in death.
Ricci and Michael Peters executive produce for Ricci’s Cat Full of Spiders; Calhoon Bring also executive produces. Jade is a consulting producer.
Ricci plays Misty Quigley on Showtime’s popular drama Yellowjackets, with the role earning her an Emmy nomination in 2022. (Ricci also was Emmy nominated in 2006 for guest starring on Grey’s Anatomy).
In a nod to her Addams Family roots, Ricci had a key role in Season 1 of Netflix’s hit Wednesday. Her other TV credits include Prime Video’s Z: The Beginning of Everything and the lead role in The Lizzie Borden Chronicles, for which she earned a SAG Award nomination. She’s repped by CAA, Untitled Entertainment, and attorney Gretchen Rush.
Bring co-created and served as co-showrunner of HBO Max’s Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, which she developed alongside Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. She previously staffed on Netflix’s The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and is a graduate of the 2018 class of the Warner Bros. Writers Workshop. Bring is repped by CAA, Untitled Entertainment, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.
Jade’s The Astrology House was published in 2024 by Atria Books.
