
Prince William County’s Mystique Ro will make her mark in the 2026 Winter Olympics next month.
NOKESVILLE, Va. — A Prince William County athlete will compete in the skeleton event in the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Mystique Ro, a Nokesville native who competed in track and field at Queens University of Charlotte, was invited to a rookie camp in 2016 and was told she “was a little small for bobsled” and should try skeleton.
Ro graduated from Brentsville District High School.
In 2024, she became the first American athlete to win a skeleton race on the World Cup circuit in eight years.
She became the first American to win a world medal in sport in 12 years when she won a silver medal in women’s skeleton at the 2025 FIL World Championship.
The Milan-Cortina games begin Feb. 6.
