Actor Atul Kulkarni announced a one-day fast in support of activist Sonam Wangchuk. At the same time, actress Sonakshi Sinha and comedian Samay Raina also came in support of Wangchuk.
Atul Kulkarni said that he will observe a day-long fast at his home on July 16. Atul said that its purpose is to feel the pain of Sonam Wangchuk and her colleagues and to appeal to the government to show sensitivity. Atul also appealed to the people to observe a fast for one day.

Atul Kulkarni has appeared in many films including ‘Rang De Basanti’, ‘Hey Ram’ and ‘The Ghazi Attack’.
Let us tell you that Sonam Wangchuk is sitting on a hunger strike by joining the Cockroach Janata Party movement demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in the NEET paper leak case. Today i.e. 16th July is the 19th day of Wangchuk’s hunger strike. Now many Bollywood actors have publicly expressed their support for their strike.
Actress Sonakshi Sinha, while sharing the video on Instagram today, said that she had never given a public statement like this before, but this time it was not possible to remain silent. He said that Sonam Wangchuk is known for her work and achievements for the country. According to him, Wangchuk is fasting for the future of the students whom he considers to be in danger. He said that this is a fight against a system whose functioning is being questioned.
Sonakshi said that the youth of the country are raising their voice, but dialogue is not starting on this issue. She said that she is also the youth of the country and wants the well-being of the country, hence she decided to express her views publicly.

She also said, “I just want to ask when will it be enough? When these people die, will you wake up? And whose responsibility will it be? What is happening is not right. That’s all I want to say.”
Actress Fatima Sana Shaikh wrote on social media that it has been 19 days now and one should not wait so long to listen to someone. He said that a person like Sonam Wangchuk, who has contributed a lot to the country, should not put his health at stake to express his views. Fatima said that whatever be the political views, it is important to protect the future of the students. He expressed hope that the issue would be resolved through talks and Sonam Wangchuk’s health would remain safe. He also appealed to support the youth for a better future.

Comedian Samay Raina also shared the picture of Sonam Wangchuk and wrote that he is hoping and praying that Wangchuk remains safe and this entire matter is resolved soon through talks.

Surendra Sharma appealed to Sonam Wangchuk
Famous poet Surendra Sharma has released a video message in the name of Sonam Wangchuk. He made an emotional appeal to Wangchuk to end his fast unto death. Surendra Sharma said that the country needs leadership like Sonam Wangchuk, hence one should not put one’s life at stake for the resignation of any minister. He said that the country is bigger than any one resignation and crores of youth today consider Wangchuk as their voice. Sharma said that if anything happens to them, the hopes of the youth will be shattered. In the end he appealed to Wangchuk to end his fast in the interest of the country and continue the struggle.

Earlier, many celebs like Soni Razdan, Shabana Azmi, Rubina Dilaik, Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak Shah and Anurag Kashyap have also posted in support of Sonam Wangchuk.
