The story of the film is said to be inspired by the famous Nagarwala Bank case that came to light in the same year, which is counted among the most mysterious cases in Indian judicial and political history. Former army officer Rustam Sohrab Nagarwala was accused of calling the chief cashier of State Bank of India by imitating the voice of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and withdrawing about Rs 60 lakh.
